Our pub is owned and run by the Holmes family and it offers a traditional family pub atmosphere, whilst delivering fantastic fresh tasty food, where we proudly use some of the best produce that the Island has to offer. We have fantastic meats and vegetables sourced from local farms and fish from the waters around us available throughout our menu.
Head Chef, Steve Harris, and his kitchen team take immense pride in using our own home-made recipes where possible, to ensure a unique and personal dining experience for everyone.
The Chequers Inn has been in the family for 30 years since Sue and Richard Holmes purchased the pub in 1988, they owned and ran the pub for 28 years and in the later years they also welcomed their son, Mark Holmes, to join them.
Today their son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Laura Holmes are pleased to continue the family business after undertaking a considerable refurbishment of the pub, and transformation of the style and menu on offer.
