The Chequers Inn, Rookley, Isle of Wight
The pub will reopen on Saturday 4th July but we're going to be changing the way we do things so that we can ensure a safe environment for everyone during their visit. There will be some changes to our usual service, but you will still get the same friendly and enjoyable service.
We are excited to announce that our popular Sunday carvery will be available as of Sunday 5th, but our chefs will be serving your meat, vegetables and sides to you at the carvery station.
With a five star hygiene rating, we already implement a high standard of cleanliness, but we will be taking further precautions to keep surfaces sanitised. More frequent and thorough cleaning will be ensured throughout the day, with every table being deep cleaned after every guest
Where possible, contactless payments are preferred. Contactless limits have been increased to £45, but we also accept Apple and Google Pay. We aim to limit the amount of cash we handle, but cash payments will still be taken
We kindly ask that all our guests respect government advice and keep a safe distance of 1 metre apart. Our recently announced app will also help to reduce contact with other.

The Chequers Inn, which is owned and run by the Holmes family, is a traditional rural pub situated in the heart of the Isle of Wight within the beautiful countryside. Our pub is the perfect place to eat, sleep and drink on the Isle of Wight, and also perfect for just stopping by for a pint of traditional local ale.
We are proud to have our kitchen run by Head Chef, Steve Harris, whose aim is to provide fantastic fresh tasty food created with as much local produce as possible, with an elegant and relaxed atmosphere.
Here at The Chequers Inn, we have our sun lounge available for private hire, which includes its own private bar, making it the ideal setting for meetings, parties and conferences.
We offer a family orientated pub with a large children's play area and games room to keep them entertained for hours on end, so you can relax and enjoy your time here with us.
The Chequers Inn also consists of three luxury B&B rooms available for holidays or short trips away with stunning views of the local countryside. We are unfortunately unable to welcome dogs to stay within our B&B rooms, however they are very welcome within the rest of the pub.
We are also pleased to be able to offer our ever so popular Sunday carvery, which is served throughout the day, offering several succulent meats to try alongside a range of seasonal vegetables.
